We leave next week for China (May 7th-20th)---first to Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province (Eastern China) where they specialize in Green tea and then to Yunnan Province (Southwest China near the border of Burma, Laos, and Vietnam), the land of Pu-erh tea with our documentary participants, Mark and Victoria.
The director's cut of Searching for Roots in Canton premiered at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District on Saturday, April 28th. It was well received by over 400 audience members. A Q&A with the documentary's director and executive producer, Duffy Wang, fellow travelers, Alana Woods Chan, Nathan Fong, and Al Cheng was moderated by Steven Owyang from Friends of Roots. Duffy Wang said, "I have over 21 years of experience working on documentaries about Chinese culture and the making of this documentary has been the most profound experience I've had!"
